About Annie

Annie Andrews began her path to law after undergraduate studies at the University of South Carolina in Columbia and later earned her law degree from Charleston School of Law. She returned to Charleston to build a practice rooted in local institutions and community work. The combination of a statewide university education and a Charleston legal education shaped her early professional choices.

Early in her career Andrews joined the Charleston County Bar Association and the South Carolina Bar Association in 2013. She added membership in the South Carolina Association for Criminal Defense Lawyers in 2014, signaling an early involvement in criminal defense. Her work on the Charleston County Juvenile Drug Court committee from 2017 to 2020 brought direct exposure to issues affecting young people and the court systems that handle them. Those years also included a brief committee role with the South Carolina Bar Association Young Lawyers Division on a Protecting Our Youth project in 2018–2019.

Since 2020 Andrews’ affiliations expanded. She joined the Berkeley County Bar Association, the South Carolina Association for Justice, and the American Association for Justice. She also took a seat on the executive board of Charleston Legal Access, a role that placed her in ongoing discussions about legal services for underserved residents. In 2021 she became active in several groups that intersect with elder care and civil rights, including the American Association for Justice Nursing Home Litigation Group, the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association, and the South Carolina Civil Rights Network. She also serves on the South Carolina Bar Association Elder Law Committee.

Colleagues describe Andrews as someone who handles a mix of cases that cross criminal defense, civil rights claims, and elder law matters. Over time her work has come to involve nursing home litigation alongside more traditional defense work. The variety of memberships reflects a career that moves between courtroom advocacy and community-oriented legal services. Her committee work and board service suggest an interest in systemic issues as well as individual cases.

She practices from The Andrews Law Office, maintaining a local presence in Charleston and Berkeley counties. Her current practice addresses elder law concerns, nursing home cases, civil rights matters, and criminal defense work.
