About Annette
Annette Gifford earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology from Cornell University in 1999 and a J.D. from Cornell Law School in 2002. She moved through a rigorous academic program that combined social science and law. Those years set the foundation for a legal practice that spans state and federal matters.
She is admitted to practice in New York and California. She also holds admission to the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Northern, Western and Southern Districts of New York. Those admissions allow her to handle cases in multiple trial courts across the state and to bring matters in federal court when appropriate.
Gifford serves as a lawyer at Spolin Law P.C. Her work there involves representing clients in proceedings that may arise in state courts and in the federal districts where she is admitted. She has experience preparing filings for federal dockets and appearing in court on behalf of clients. Colleagues describe her as methodical in courtroom preparation and attentive to procedural requirements, qualities that matter in both state and federal practice.
Beyond casework, Gifford participates in professional organizations that connect lawyers across practice areas and regions. She holds memberships in the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the Monroe County Bar Association. She is also a member of the Greater Rochester Association for Women Lawyers. Those affiliations provide regular opportunities for continuing legal education and local bar involvement.
Her background in human ecology and subsequent legal training give her a perspective that bridges policy, community concerns and courtroom practice. At Spolin Law P.C. she draws on admissions in multiple jurisdictions to advise clients whose matters cross state or federal lines. She currently practices law at Spolin Law P.C., where her work focuses on matters arising in New York and in the federal courts in which she is admitted, as well as legal issues in California where she holds a license.
