About Anne-Marie L.
Anne-Marie L. Bowen built a legal path that blends business training and international study. She began her education in finance, earning a bachelor’s degree in business and finance at Florida State University. She returned to FSU for law and completed her Juris Doctor in 1987. Between those two degrees she spent time studying law at Oxford University in England in 1985, an experience that broadened her perspective on legal systems and comparative approaches.
Her early career started in private practice. In 1987 she worked as a senior associate at a small Orlando law office, handling the kinds of matters young litigators often see first: client counseling, pleadings, and courtroom appearances. That hands-on work established practical skills she carried into later roles.
In 1991 Bowen joined the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation as a lawyer. That position placed her inside a federal regulatory agency during a period when banking issues drew intense scrutiny. Her time at the FDIC gave her exposure to the intersection of law, finance, and public oversight. She worked on legal matters that involved the agency’s responsibilities and the legal consequences for financial institutions.
Three years later she took a different path and opened her own practice. In 1994 she founded Anne-Marie L. Bowen, P.A., and has operated the firm since. Running a small firm required a shift in day-to-day focus. She moved from working inside institutions to representing individual clients and businesses, managing cases end to end and running the administrative side of a practice.
Bowen’s educational background in business and law, coupled with experience at a federal regulator and in private practice, shapes the kinds of matters she handles. Her work reflects an understanding of both commercial concerns and regulatory requirements. Colleagues describe her as pragmatic in approach and careful in analysis. She combines courtroom experience from early in her career with the procedural knowledge gained at the FDIC and the practical demands of managing a firm.
She is licensed to practice in Florida and maintains her practice through her firm. Today she continues to operate Anne-Marie L. Bowen, P.A., handling matters that draw on her business and regulatory experience and representing clients in state-level matters in Florida.
