About Anne H.

Anne H. Peck built her legal foundation in classrooms on both coasts. She earned a B.A. in International Politics from Georgetown University in 1980 and a J.D. from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco in 1986. Those formative years steered her into a practice anchored in California, where she has maintained a steady presence.

Her career led her to a leadership role at Cooley Godward Kronish LLP, where she served as a partner. In that capacity she handled a range of matters for corporate and private clients, worked alongside colleagues to manage complex files, and took part in the administrative duties that come with partnership. Colleagues have described her approach as pragmatic and detail-oriented; clients relied on her for clear counsel and steady judgment.

Peck’s work has been rooted in the legal landscape of California. Based in Palo Alto, she has practiced in one of the state’s busiest legal markets. That setting demanded both technical knowledge and an ability to explain legal risk in plain terms. Over time she developed a rhythm that combined case-level management with strategic planning for clients facing multi-jurisdictional issues.

Outside of client work she took on the informal teaching roles that often fall to senior lawyers: mentoring junior associates, helping shape firm processes, and briefing newer attorneys on courtroom practice and negotiation tactics. Those responsibilities complemented her client-facing practice and gave her a broader view of firm operations and training needs.

Peck’s academic background in international politics and her law degree provided a dual perspective. She brought an understanding of global context to locally grounded legal problems. That mix proved useful in a Bay Area practice where domestic and international issues frequently intersect.

Today she continues to practice law from Cooley’s Palo Alto office. Her work remains rooted in client counseling and representation in California matters.
