About Anne
Anne Bayerkohler combines an English degree and a legal studies credential to build a career around rules, systems and organizational risk. She studied English language and literature at the University of Houston and later earned a Master of Legal Studies in Compliance and Risk Management from Seattle University School of Law.
Her career has taken a steady arc through compliance and standards organizations. Early on she worked at the PCI Security Standards Council as a business process manager for the quality management system, a role that put her in the middle of industry rules and audit practices. By 2012 she had moved to Trustwave as director of compliance, overseeing program work tied to data security and vendor obligations.
Over the next decade Bayerkohler shifted into senior corporate compliance roles. She joined Coalfire as senior director of corporate compliance in 2021, taking on responsibilities that included policy development, risk assessment and cross-functional coordination. The following year she became senior director of compliance at Edgio, a continuation of her trajectory into enterprise-level compliance management.
Parallel to corporate roles, she has stepped into legal education. In 2022 she served as adjunct faculty at Seattle University School of Law and at The Santa Barbara & Ventura Colleges of Law. Those part-time teaching posts reflect an interest in explaining regulatory frameworks and practical program design to students and professionals.
Her work centers on the nuts and bolts of compliance: building programs, documenting processes, handling assessments and aligning business practices with applicable standards. She has experience with PCI-related standards and quality management systems, and she has carried that experience into broader enterprise risk work. Colleagues describe her approach as methodical; she prefers clear procedures and measurable outcomes over slogans or broad statements.
Bayerkohler also engages with academic and professional communities. Her teaching assignments and corporate positions suggest a practitioner who moves between industry practice and classroom instruction. She has managed teams, overseen audits and worked on policy implementation across different kinds of organizations.
Today she remains active in compliance leadership and legal education. She is affiliated with The College of Law and continues to work on corporate compliance programs, regulatory adherence and risk management initiatives as part of her current practice focus.
