About Anna M.

Anna M. Benjamin trained as a lawyer at the University of Illinois College of Law, earning her J.D. in 2008 after completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Missouri–Columbia in 2004. She arrived at law school after a traditional liberal arts undergraduate program, and she left it prepared for state practice. Her legal education built the foundation for an extended career based in Illinois.

Soon after graduating from law school, Benjamin began practicing in Illinois. Over the years she has worked on matters grounded in state law and has represented a range of clients in matters that arose under Illinois statutes and local rules. Colleagues describe her as methodical in the way she approaches legal problems and careful in courtroom and transactional settings. She is known for attention to procedural detail and for an analytical approach to case development.

Benjamin’s early years in practice were spent developing routine litigation and client counseling skills. She has experience preparing filings, negotiating settlements and advising clients on compliance questions that relate to state requirements. Her work has required frequent contact with court clerks, opposing counsel and administrative agencies, and she has handled matters that demanded close attention to filing deadlines and evidentiary preparation.

In addition to client work, Benjamin has stayed engaged with continuing legal education opportunities. She has participated in seminars and professional programs that address evolving statutory and case law in Illinois. That continuing study informs how she evaluates new issues that come up for clients, helping her to translate recent developments into practical advice rather than abstract theory.

Colleagues and clients have turned to Benjamin for clear explanations of legal options. Her practice balances written work—drafting motions, briefs and contracts—with in-person advocacy. She tends to break complex issues down into discrete steps so clients can make informed choices about settlement and litigation strategies.

Today Anna M. Benjamin maintains an active practice in Illinois. She represents individuals and organizations in state matters and concentrates on advising clients about legal obligations, procedural pathways and dispute resolution in Illinois courts and administrative forums. Her current practice is focused on providing legal services to clients throughout the state of Illinois.
