Anna Hysell traces a Midwestern start to a West Coast practice. She earned a B.A. in Speech and Communications from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign in 1996. She later completed her J.D. at the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2002. Those academic stops set the stage for a legal career centered on immigration issues.
