About Ann
Ann Manning is the managing shareholder of Underwood Law Firm's Lubbock office, specializing in employment, education, and health care law. She has been practicing law in Texas since 1984 and is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Ms. Manning earned her Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1984 and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Texas Tech University in 1970. She has represented clients including school districts, employers, universities, churches, and financial institutions. Her practice encompasses employment counseling, Title IX and Title VII matters, and issues related to the Texas Labor Code. She also advises school districts on personnel contracts, wage disputes, employee reviews, student privacy. Open government laws. Ms. Manning has held leadership roles such as serving on the Board of Directors for the State Bar of Texas School Law Section and as Chair of the Texas Council of School Attorneys.
She was honored by the Texas Legislature in 2025 with House Resolution 203 and Senate Resolution No. 93 for her contributions to the legal community. She is a member of the Lubbock County Bar Association and the Texas Council of School Attorneys. Ms. Manning is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. The U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Western, Eastern, and Southern Districts of Texas. In addition to her legal practice, Ms.
Manning is a musician who has written and produced a children's Christmas musical and has produced 13 piano solo CDs. She plays the piano for her church and is the proud grandmother of four.
