About Ann L.
Ann L. Fisher built a legal career that spans private practice, in-house work and bar leadership. She earned a B.S. from Oregon State University in 1975 and went on to receive her J.D. from Willamette University College of Law in 1983. Those academic steps set the stage for a steady progression through law firms and corporate legal departments in the Pacific Northwest.
Fresh out of law school Fisher began her practice as an associate at Lane Powell PC in 1983. She moved to Greene and Markley in 1985 and gained further trial and transactional experience there. By 1988 she had taken on an in-house role as Assistant General Counsel at Portland General Electric, where she worked on regulatory, contract and corporate issues for the utility. That shift to corporate practice informed much of her later work.
In the early 1990s Fisher returned to firm work as Of Counsel at Schwabe Williamson & Wyatt, a position she held beginning in 1993. She later founded AF Legal & Consulting Services LLC in 1996, a step toward independent practice. Today she maintains an office under the name Ann Fisher Law and handles matters for clients across state and federal forums.
Fisher is admitted to practice in Oregon and Washington and has credentials in several federal courts. Her admissions include the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Washington, the Ninth Circuit and the Federal Circuit. Those admissions have allowed her to represent clients in both trial and appellate matters in the region.
Her involvement in bar organizations has been sustained over decades. Fisher was a member of the Oregon State Bar Board of Governors from 2007 to 2012 and served as chair of the Oregon State Bar’s Corporate Counsel Section in 2016. She holds memberships in the Washington State Bar Association, the Multnomah County Bar Association and the Washington County Bar Association, and has been active in the American Bar Association.
Colleagues and clients have looked to Fisher for practical counsel rooted in experience both inside and outside private firms. Her career path — from associate to in-house counsel to of counsel and then solo practitioner — reflects a range of practice settings and responsibilities. She continues to practice from her office in the Pacific Northwest. Her current practice concentrates on corporate and business matters.
