About Anique K

Anique K Drouin earned her J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2007, where she studied family law. She built her legal foundation in that area early in her career and has continued to practice in family law matters since leaving law school. Her training includes both courtroom procedure and alternative dispute resolution techniques learned through practice and certification programs.

She began her professional career at Sullivan Taylor & Gumina, P.C., joining the firm as a senior associate in 2007. Over the next decade she expanded her practice responsibilities and in 2018 became a partner at Sullivan Taylor Gumina & Palmer, P.C. During her time there she handled a range of family law matters, representing clients in contested and negotiated proceedings and working on case strategy, discovery, and settlement negotiations.

Drouin pursued additional professional credentials that shaped her approach to dispute resolution. She is a Collaborative Fellow of the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois and also holds fellowship status with the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. She earned a mediation certification through the 18th Judicial Circuit Court, adding a formal credential to her experience in mediated settlements and dispute resolution.

In 2022 she left the firm partnership to open Drouin Family Law LLC and now serves as the firm's principal. The move allowed her to concentrate on family law cases handled through collaborative practice and mediation as well as traditional litigation when necessary. Her work covers divorce, child custody and parenting time, support issues, and other domestic-relations matters. She has represented clients in both negotiated resolutions and contested hearings in Illinois courts.

Colleagues describe her as methodical in case preparation and attentive to procedural detail. She applies collaborative and mediated processes when appropriate, while maintaining preparedness for contested court proceedings. Drouin is licensed to practice in Illinois and maintains memberships in professional organizations related to family law and collaborative practice.

She currently practices family law at Drouin Family Law LLC, focusing on collaborative practice and mediation in Illinois.
