Angelina Maria Plumtree is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in California, Nevada, and before the U.S. Supreme Court. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 2000. Her license is currently in active status. Ms. Plumtree is a founding partner at Plumtree & Brunner LLP, a boutique construction law firm specializing in representing general contractors, custom homebuilders, remodelers, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, and architects in both California and Nevada. The firm's main office is located at 7111 Garden Grove Blvd, Suite 200, Garden Grove, CA 92841, with additional offices in San Luis Obispo and Indio, California.
Ms. Plumtree earned her Juris Doctor degree from California Western School of Law in 1999. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at Occidental College, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1995. During her time at California Western, she developed a strong foundation in construction law, which has been the focus of her legal career.
Ms. Plumtree's practice areas include construction law, insurance defense, and business law. She represents clients in matters such as contract litigation, mechanics liens, bonded stop notices, delay claims, differing site conditions, change order negotiation and litigation, disgorgement, California Home Improvement Contract issues, contract drafting and negotiation, CSLB license issues, business formation, expansion and dissolution, zoning, and code enforcement. Her practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout her career, Ms. Plumtree has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Los Angeles, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Supreme Court. She has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding her own firm, she worked as an associate at a multi-state law firm in Las Vegas, Nevada, representing national developers. She litigated numerous construction cases on behalf of these developers, including a case that was appealed to the Nevada Supreme Court and became law—Shuette v. Beazer Homes Holdings Corp.
Ms. Plumtree is an active member of the American Bar Association Construction Forum, the San Luis Obispo Contractors Exchange, the Building Industry Association, and the California Association of Specialty Contractors. She has been recognized with the Volunteer of the Year award from the Remodelers Council in 2008 and from the Trade Contractors Council in 2010. Ms. Plumtree is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing her to serve the diverse communities of California and Nevada effectively.
