About Angela

Angela Spalding took a conventional path into the law. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, then earned a J.D. from DePaul College of Law. Those years shaped how she approaches legal work: careful, exacting and practical.

After law school she entered practice in the Chicago area. Over time she has worked across office settings in both the city and its suburbs. She now maintains offices in Chicago and Elgin, where she meets with clients and manages files from intake through resolution.

Her early training at DePaul emphasized doctrinal rigor and practical skills. That background informs her day-to-day work. She tends to break complex problems into discrete issues. That makes it easier to explain options to clients and to map out sensible next steps.

Colleagues describe her as methodical in preparing matters and deliberate in courtroom settings. She explains legal points in plain language and relies on precedent and statute when building arguments. Her weekdays are a mix of client meetings, drafting and court appearances, arranged around the calendars of the two offices she staffs.

Outside of court schedules, much of her work involves advising clients on the consequences of choices. She helps people understand risks and likely outcomes. She also places emphasis on timely communication, returning calls and setting clear expectations about process and timing.

She maintains an active practice from the Chicago and Elgin offices, handling regional matters for individuals and businesses and providing representation in local courts.
