About Angela Childress

Angela Childress Jones built a legal path that runs from Tennessee classrooms to Colorado courtrooms. She earned her B.S. in political science from Austin Peay State University in 1996 and completed her J.D. at the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1999. During law school she was inducted into honor societies including Order of the Coif and Phi Kappa Phi, marks of strong academic performance.

Her career began in 1999 as an associate at Harwell, Howard, Hyne, Gabbert & Manner. That entry-level post gave her courtroom exposure and client work that informed later moves. By 2001 she was the principal of Childress Law Office, building a small practice and a client base that would follow her through subsequent changes.

In 2013 she formed a practice under her own name, Angela Childress Jones, Esq. The next year was busy. She joined Torbet Tuft & McConkie, LLC as a lawyer and took on the role of general counsel for Woodman Valley Chapel Prison Ministry. Those roles placed her in both private practice and a nonprofit counsel position, giving her experience in diverse institutional settings.

She later served as managing partner of Sanders Law Office beginning in 2017. Throughout these positions she has maintained ties to bar organizations and professional groups. Since 2014 she has held memberships in the Colorado Bar Association, the Denver Bar Association and the El Paso County Bar Association. She has been active on Colorado Bar Association committees since 2015, including the Awards Committee, the Professionalism Coordinating Council and the Lawyer’s Professional Liability Committee. Earlier in her career she held the presidency of the Tennessee Association for Public Interest Law from 1997 to 1998 and was admitted to Omicron Delta Kappa in 1995.

Her practice has crossed state lines. She is licensed to practice in Tennessee and Colorado and has handled matters in both jurisdictions over the years. Colleagues describe her as methodical and practical in case preparation, preferring clear strategy over flash.

Today she is based at Brighter Day Law. She continues to participate in local and state bar activities while handling client matters in Tennessee and Colorado. Her current practice centers on representing clients across her admitted jurisdictions.
