About Angel

Angel Chiang built a foundation in the liberal arts before turning to the law. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Japanese from Dartmouth College in 2006, a course of study that combined close reading, cultural study and language work. Those skills translated into legal analysis and writing at Stanford Law School, where she received her J.D. in 2011.

After law school Chiang entered private practice. She is an attorney at Fenwick & West LLP, where she has handled matters that require courtroom advocacy and federal filings. Her time at the firm has involved appearances in district and appellate courts and work that brings together procedural rigour and careful drafting.

Chiang is admitted to the California bar and holds admission to several federal jurisdictions. She is authorized to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and has credentials to appear in the 7th and 9th U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeals. Those admissions allow her to pursue matters from initial filings through appellate review when cases proceed beyond the trial level.

Her professional record shows experience in managing litigation workflows. She has participated in motions practice, brief writing and oral argument preparation. The academic background in two languages supports clear written advocacy, an asset when files require precise briefing or attention to statutory text.

Colleagues describe Chiang as methodical in courtroom preparation and attentive to the procedural posture of each matter. She combines lawyering tasks—research, client counseling and drafting—into an approach that aims to keep litigation moving. She works on teams that coordinate discovery, manage depositions and synthesize complex records for judges and opposing counsel.

Outside the courtroom Chiang’s education informs the way she reads documents and prepares legal narratives. Her Dartmouth studies in English and Japanese provided a grounding in comparative texts and language nuance. Stanford Law reinforced those skills with case analysis and doctrinal study.

In practice she navigates federal and appellate dockets and supports clients through stages of litigation that may include district-court proceedings and appeals. Chiang’s current practice concentrates on representing clients in federal and appellate courts.
