About Andrew R.
Andrew R. Buffington began his academic journey in the Pacific Northwest. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington–Seattle in 2002. Seven years later he graduated from Seattle University School of Law with a J.D. in 2009. Those formative years set the groundwork for a career that blends participation in the bar community with local civic service.
After law school, Buffington built a practice based in Washington. He is licensed to practice in that state. Over time he took on roles that extended beyond client files. In 2015 he became president of the Tacoma Community House board of directors, serving in that role through 2018. The position placed him at the center of a local nonprofit, overseeing governance and community programs during his tenure.
His engagement in legal circles continued alongside his nonprofit work. Since 2018 he has served on the Executive Committee of the American Inns of Court, holding the office of secretary. That role involves organizing meetings and contributing to the administration of an organization that brings together judges, lawyers and law students for mentoring and professional development.
Buffington’s practice is situated at Davies Pearson, P.C., where he conducts his day-to-day legal work. He has combined firm responsibilities with outside leadership for many years. Colleagues note his steady presence in both firm and community initiatives. He maintains active ties to regional professional networks and participates in programs that aim to strengthen the local legal profession.
He approaches his work with an emphasis on clear communication and practical problem solving. In client matters he tends to prioritize straightforward analysis and manageable steps. That practical bent grew out of his legal training and early years practicing in Washington, where state and local issues often require both legal and logistical attention.
Outside of the office, his board and committee roles show a willingness to take on organizational duties. The mix of nonprofit leadership and bar association service has become a defining feature of his career path. He practices law in Washington through Davies Pearson, P.C., and focuses his practice on legal matters arising in the state of Washington.
