About Andrew

Andrew McLaughlin built his legal foundation over a decade of steady work and study. He earned a B.A. in history and Spanish from Dickinson College in 1999 and took his law degree from the University of Florida in 2003. While still an undergraduate he worked as a paralegal, then served as a certified legal intern in the Office of the 8th Circuit State Lawyer after law school.

He began his formal legal career in 2004 as an associate at Kelley, Kronenberg, Gilmartin, Fichtel & Wander, P.A. The following year he moved into public defense, joining the Office of the 17th Circuit Public Defender as an assistant public defender. That front-line courtroom experience was followed by stints in private practice. In 2005 he joined Loughren and Doyle, P.A. as an associate. He later worked as an associate at Joseph Jacks, P.A. in 2008.

McLaughlin started his own firm in 2014. McLaughlin Morris, P.A. grew out of that move. He manages the firm’s main office as well as its Miami office. Over the years he has maintained membership in the Florida Bar, a status he has held since 2004.

Colleagues and clients describe him as steady and practical. He handles case preparation, client counseling, and courtroom work. His earlier role as an assistant public defender gave him frequent trial exposure. His time in several small and mid-sized firms added experience in case management and litigation strategy. The combination informs how he evaluates matters and prepares for hearings and trials.

McLaughlin keeps a local orientation. He is licensed in Florida and practices primarily in state courts. He balances firm management duties with hands-on legal work. That means overseeing case teams one day and appearing in court the next.

He still draws on the earliest lessons of his career — attention to detail, a willingness to do the day-to-day work, and an emphasis on clear client communication. Those habits shape how he leads McLaughlin Morris, P.A. now. He currently practices at McLaughlin Morris, P.A., representing clients in Florida state courts.
