About Andrew
Andrew McCormick built a legal foundation at Hendrix College, where he studied philosophy and politics, before earning a J.D. from Columbia Law School and an LL.M. from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Those classrooms set the pattern for a career that has moved between large law firms, government service and in-house roles.
Early in his career he received a Fulbright Scholarship from the U.S. Department of State in 2007. He served as a JAG clerk with the USFK/United Nations Joint Command in 2010, an experience that placed him at the intersection of military and international law. He entered private practice at Latham & Watkins as an associate in 2011, working on matters typical for a general corporate associate at a global firm.
By 2014 he had advanced to senior associate at Hogan Lovells. That year marked a shift toward more complex corporate work and larger client matters. In 2019 he moved into an in-house role as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Laird Superfood. The same year he began teaching as an adjunct professor of law at the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law, bringing practical corporate experience into the classroom.
McCormick continued his in-house trajectory in 2021 when he joined Black Rifle Coffee Company as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. He also took a seat on the board of directors of Taronis Fuels, Inc. in 2021. His path shows a steady movement into roles that combine corporate governance, operational oversight and counsel to executive teams.
He is admitted to practice in Utah, New York and Colorado. He has been a member of the Colorado State Bar since 2014 and joined the Utah State Bar in 2022. His memberships reflect a bi-regional practice footprint across the Mountain West and the Northeast.
McCormick’s background spans academic study in the United States and the U.K., government scholarship and military legal service, litigation and transactional work at global firms, and a sequence of in-house general counsel positions. He teaches law and serves on a corporate board. He currently practices as in-house corporate counsel, advising on corporate governance, compliance and commercial matters.
