About Andrew
Andrew May built a legal career that moves between firms and a solo practice. He came through two contrasting academic environments: an undergraduate degree in political science and government at Dartmouth College, and a law degree from the University of Maryland — Baltimore. Those years shaped the routine of research, writing, and courtroom preparation that would define his practice.
At Dartmouth he earned an AB in Political Science and Government in 1997. He later completed his J.D. at the University of Maryland — Baltimore in 2003. The combination of a liberal arts background and formal legal training informs how he approaches client problems and case strategy.
He entered private practice straight out of law school, joining Corr Cronin as an associate in 2003. That early stint in a firm setting exposed him to firm procedures and collaborative case work. In 2009 he moved to the Law Offices of Felicia A. Malsby, PS, where he continued to refine trial preparation and client counseling skills. Two years later he opened his own practice, the Law Office of Andrew May, and managed the responsibilities of an owner-lawyer — handling intake, case management, and litigation decisions.
In 2019 he joined Envision Family Law as a lawyer. The path from associate to solo practitioner and back to a firm role gives him a broad view of how different practice structures operate. Clients who prefer the direct access of a small practice and those who need the resources of a firm find aspects of his background relevant.
Throughout his career he has worked in matters commonly arising in family law. He has experience preparing pleadings, negotiating settlements, and appearing in court for hearings and trials. He also spent time managing the administrative and business functions of a solo practice, an experience that informs how he organizes case dockets and communicates with clients.
Licensed to practice in Washington, he maintains a practice that blends courtroom work with negotiated resolutions. He has been a member of professional associations during his career and continues to participate in the legal community. He currently practices family law at Envision Family Law, representing clients in family law matters.
