About Andrew M

Andrew M Wright built his path to law from a foundation in political science. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Wright State University, then completed a Master of Arts in Political Science at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He finished his legal training at Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, receiving his J.D. in 2013.

After law school, Wright began his career in private practice. He joined Vincent & Vreeland, PC as an associate in 2014, where he gained experience handling client matters and courtroom work. The following year he opened Wright Law and carried on representing clients in a range of legal matters. Those early years provided routine exposure to litigation, client counseling and the day-to-day demands of running a small practice.

Wright’s career also includes military service. In 2015 he served as a captain and judge advocate in the U.S. Army National Guard. That role added a public‑law dimension to his resume. As a judge advocate he worked within military legal systems, advising commanders and handling military justice matters while balancing the distinct procedures and standards that apply to service members.

In 2019 Wright moved into public sector law when he became Assistant Corporation Counsel for Kalamazoo County Government. The title placed him inside local government operations and required drafting and reviewing ordinances, advising elected officials and staff, and representing the county in legal proceedings. That position shifted his practice from private client work into government representation and institutional legal advice.

Across private practice, military service and county government, Wright has combined courtroom experience with advisory work. He has experience in litigation, administrative proceedings and the legal issues that touch municipal operations. He has worked on matters where statutory interpretation, local policy and procedural rules intersect. Colleagues and clients have found his background useful when cases or questions require both tactical legal thinking and an understanding of public institutions.

Wright lives and practices in Michigan. He continues to serve as Assistant Corporation Counsel for Kalamazoo County Government, where his work focuses on municipal law and government legal matters.
