About Andrew

Andrew Longcore built his academic foundation around history and business law. He earned a B.A. in history from Michigan State University in 2006 and went on to receive a J.D. from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2009, where he studied business transactions. Those years shaped his approach to legal problems: attention to facts, careful analysis, and an eye for commercial detail.

He began practicing law in Michigan after law school. Over time he developed a practice oriented to the needs of commercial clients. His work has involved advising small and mid-size businesses on formation and governance issues, drafting and negotiating contracts, and handling routine commercial matters. He has also assisted clients with compliance questions and transactional risk assessment.

Longcore’s training in business transactions shows in his day-to-day work. He handles entity selection and formation, prepares operating agreements and shareholder arrangements, and counsels owners on structuring deals. He spends a good portion of his time reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, from vendor agreements to service and licensing arrangements. He approaches each file with a practical mindset. He tries to identify business objectives early and translate them into clear legal steps.

Clients often turn to him when they need straightforward answers on corporate formalities or when a transaction needs tightening before closing. He is comfortable explaining legal concepts in plain language. That clarity helps business owners make decisions without wading through jargon.

Beyond transactional matters, Longcore advises on day-to-day corporate governance, including compliance with state filing requirements and internal recordkeeping. He also assists clients who need to update documents after changes in ownership or management. Much of his practice centers on preventing disputes by getting paperwork and structures in order before problems arise.

He is licensed to practice in Michigan and works out of The Business Law Group. His practice is centered on serving business clients across the state. He handles corporate and commercial matters, contract drafting and negotiation, and entity formation and governance as part of his current practice focus.
