About Andrew L
Andrew L Wizner began his academic path at Georgetown University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Spanish. He went on to study law at Vanderbilt University Law School, receiving his J.D. in 1989. Those years gave him language skills and a legal foundation that later shaped a practice centered on immigration matters.
After law school, Wizner entered private practice and built a career in Connecticut. In 1997 he became partner and managing partner at Leete, Kosto & Wizner, LLP. That role placed him in day-to-day management while he continued to handle individual cases. Over time he balanced firm leadership with casework, moving between managerial duties and client representation as needed.
In 2022 he took on the title of managing partner at Wizner Law, PLLC. The change marked the latest stage of a long-running presence in Connecticut’s legal community. He continues to maintain an office under the Wizner Law name, overseeing operations and supervising other lawyers while remaining available to clients.
Immigration law has been a steady thread through his work. He has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association since 1991, an affiliation that reflects decades spent on immigration issues. He also holds membership in the Connecticut Bar Association and participates in its Immigration Law Section. Those ties keep him connected to peers and to evolving practice standards in the state.
Wizner has been involved in organizations that intersect with physician immigration. He serves on the International Medical Graduate Task Force’s Liaison Committee and previously took part in planning for the Physician Immigration Law Institute’s conferences. Those roles indicate sustained engagement with immigration questions affecting overseas-trained doctors and other medical professionals.
Colleagues describe him as a lawyer who blends management experience with steady case work. He has navigated firm leadership and professional association involvement while practicing in Connecticut for many years. His record shows continuity in immigration matters, particularly where physician and medical graduate issues arise.
He presently practices from Wizner Law, PLLC, representing clients in immigration matters and handling firm management responsibilities as managing partner.
