Andrew Jeffrey Fishkin is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2005. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Fishkin is the principal attorney at the Law Office of Andrew J. Fishkin, P.C., a law firm located in Bakersfield, California. He has been practicing law for over 20 years, serving clients throughout the Central Valley region.
Mr. Fishkin earned his Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, graduating in 2004. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at California State University, Long Beach, where he received both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Asian Studies in 1993 and 2000, respectively. During his time at Loyola Law School, he was actively involved in various student organizations and legal clinics.
Mr. Fishkin concentrates his practice in the areas of immigration law and criminal defense. He represents individuals in matters involving asylum, citizenship, deportation defense, family visas, green cards, immigration appeals, investment visas, marriage and fiancé(e) visas, student visas, visitor visas, and work visas. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Fishkin has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Kern, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Prior to founding his own firm, he served as a Senior Special Agent for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from 2003 to 2005 and as a Special Agent for the former Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) from 1997 to 2003. He also served as a Border Patrol Agent for the U.S. Border Patrol from 1996 to 1997.
Mr. Fishkin is an active member of the State Bar of California and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). He has been a member of the United States Army Reserve since 1984. He is fluent in English, Korean, French, Japanese, and Spanish, allowing him to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
