About Andre
Andre Castaybert built a career that began in classrooms and moved quickly into courtrooms. He earned his B.A. in Political Science and International Politics from Columbia University in 1985. He then went on to New York University School of Law, where he received his J.D. in 1988. Those academic years set the stage for a professional life centered on litigation and appellate practice.
He joined Proskauer Rose LLP as an associate in litigation in 1988. That early stint at a large firm gave him experience on complex matters and exposed him to a fast-paced litigation calendar. He stayed in the litigation track over the following decades, moving between counsel positions at several firms where he assumed responsibility for substantive case work and courtroom preparation.
In 2008 he served as counsel at Guzov Ofsink LLC. He moved to Levi Lubarsky & Feigenbaum LLP in 2010 as counsel, and two years later joined Trokie Landau LLP in the same capacity. Each role involved handling litigation matters for a range of clients and required coordination across filings, discovery, and trial preparation. Those positions deepened his familiarity with motion practice and appellate procedure.
In 2013 he founded CASTAYBERT PLLC and took on the role of owner and principal lawyer. Running his own firm broadened his responsibilities. He oversaw case strategy, client relationships, and the administrative demands of a small practice. The move to a solo firm followed more than two decades of work inside established litigation shops.
Castaybert is admitted to practice in New York and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits. He holds memberships in several professional organizations: the New York City Bar Association since 1990, the French-American Bar Association since 2010, and the New York State Bar Association since 2012. Those ties reflect his long-standing engagement with the legal community in New York and beyond.
Colleagues and clients have noted his steady presence at various stages of litigation. He has managed pleadings, discovery disputes, and appellate filings across state and federal forums. He blends the procedural knowledge gained at larger firms with the practical demands of operating a smaller office.
Today he practices through CASTAYBERT PLLC. He represents clients in New York state courts and in matters before the Second and Third Circuits, handling litigation and appellate work from his private practice.
