About Ana Isabel
Ana Isabel Muñoz graduated from Yale University and went on to earn her J.D. from Yale Law School. She entered the legal world equipped with a Yale undergraduate education and a courtroom-ready law degree. Her academic path placed her among peers who pursue public interest and federal litigation work.
Her early career included federal clerkships that exposed her to both trial and appellate work. In 2011 she served as a law clerk for the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. That role involved managing pretrial matters and drafting opinions under the supervision of a district judge. Two years later she clerked for the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, where she worked on appellate briefs and opinions across a range of civil issues.
After her clerkships, she spent a year as the John J. Gibbons Fellow in Public Interest and Constitutional Law at Gibbons P.C. in 2014. The fellowship emphasized constitutional questions and public interest litigation. She then moved into private practice and, in 2016, joined Zalkind Duncan & Bernstein LLP as a lawyer. Her time in practice has involved briefing, motion work, and representation in federal courts.
Muñoz holds memberships in the state bars of Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey. She is admitted to practice in those states and also holds admissions in several federal venues, including the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits. Her background bridges trial-court procedure and appellate advocacy.
Colleagues describe her as methodical in preparing records and clear in appellate briefing. Her experience combines hands-on litigation in district courts with appetite for appellate work. She has handled matters that require careful statutory and constitutional analysis, and she brings that experience to her current role at Zalkind Duncan & Bernstein LLP. She currently practices civil litigation and constitutional law.
