About Amy Schaefer

Amy Schaefer Ramsey built her legal foundation at Arizona State University, graduating in 1994, and earned her J.D. from DePaul University in 1999. She entered practice at the turn of the century and has worked in both Illinois and California over the course of her career.

She joined Littler Mendelson, P.C. as an associate in 2000 and rose to the role of shareholder in 2006. Those years anchored her professional development and gave her extended exposure to large-firm practice and complex employment matters. In 2020 she moved to Epstein Becker & Green LLP as a partner, a role that added new dimensions to her experience in litigation and counseling environments.

Ramsey is admitted to practice in both California and Illinois. She is also licensed in numerous federal courts, including the United States District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois, and several districts in California: the Central, Southern, Northern and Eastern Districts. Her admissions extend to appellate practice in the Seventh and Ninth Circuits, reflecting a practice that has included appeals as well as trial- and administrative-level work.

Her professional affiliations include the American Bar Association, the California Lawyers Association, and the California Employment Lawyers Association. Those memberships align with the trajectory of her work and provide forums for staying current on developments in employment law and courtroom procedure.

Throughout her career Ramsey has moved between established national firms and smaller practices. That path took her from Littler Mendelson to Epstein Becker & Green, and more recently to Advantage Advocates, P.C., where she is based. The variety of settings has exposed her to employer-side representation across multiple jurisdictions and to matters that require coordination among state and federal tribunals.

Colleagues and clients have seen Ramsey handle matters that traverse trial courts and federal appellate panels. Her court admissions and years in practice give her experience in briefing, motions practice, and courtroom advocacy in both state and federal systems. She maintains memberships in key professional groups relevant to employment and labor law matters.

She currently practices employment law at Advantage Advocates, P.C., concentrating on employer-side litigation and counseling.
