Cannon earned her Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Tulane University School of Law in 1998, graduating summa cum laude and as a member of the Order of the Coif. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, where she graduated cum laude in 1987.
