About Amy L.
Amy L. Alvis built a legal foundation in the late 1980s and early 1990s. She earned a B.A. in Political Science/Pre-Law from California State University, Chico in 1991. She went on to complete her Juris Doctor at CAL Northern School of Law in 1996.
Her entry into legal work began at the paralegal level. In 1991 she worked as a paralegal at Brizlain Zink and Lenzi. She returned to paralegal work at The Boccardo Law Office in 1995 and stepped into a lawyer role at the same firm in 1997. Those early years gave her practical exposure to the day-to-day work of a law office and courtroom procedures.
Alvis branched into other roles in the mid-2000s. She served as an insurance broker and agent for Farmers Insurance in 2006. The next year she founded Living Trusts by Amy, a venture that signaled an interest in estate planning and client-focused documents. In 2010 she became a partner at Alvis Quashnock and Associates, an arrangement that placed her in a firm leadership role.
Her training includes divorce mediation through the Northern California Mediation Center. That certification aligns with her practice history and suggests work involving family law processes outside of litigation. Her mix of litigation-era experience, insurance knowledge, and trust work gives her a varied practical background.
Community involvement has been a recurring element of her professional life. She served as a troop leader for Girls Scouts of Northern California from 2002 to 2009. She volunteered as a driver for Meals on Wheels between 2006 and 2009. From 2009 to 2017 she held a director position at the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce, and she has been a member of the Contra Costa County Bar Association since 2009.
Colleagues and clients have seen her move between solo enterprise and firm practice. Her ownership of Living Trusts by Amy ran alongside later firm work, and her career shows an interchange between private practice and community-facing services. She has held both advisory and representative roles over more than two decades.
Today she practices in California and is associated with Alvis Quashnock and Associates A PC. Her present work draws on estate-planning services she created through Living Trusts by Amy and on mediation training she completed through Northern California Mediation Center. Her current practice focuses on estate planning and mediation services.
