About Amy
Amy Fehn moved from patient charts to case files over the course of a decade. She began her professional life in health care and then turned to law, carrying clinical knowledge into a legal career that has included both firm work and solo practice.
Fehn earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kent State University in 1987. She went on to complete a Juris Doctor at the University of Akron in 1994. Those two degrees set the pattern for a career that blends clinical practice and legal analysis.
Her earliest roles were in the hospital setting. In 1991 she worked at Summa Health System as a registered nurse and an informatics nurse, and she also served as an associate in the general counsel’s office. That mix of bedside experience and exposure to institutional legal work informed her approach once she entered the bar and began practicing as an attorney.
Fehn moved into private practice in the late 1990s. She joined Roetzel & Andress as an associate in 1998. By 2001 she was working at Wachler & Associates, P.C., and in 2004 she opened the Law Office of Amy K. Fehn as a sole practitioner and contract lawyer. She returned to Wachler & Associates in 2009 and later was part of the Law Offices of Fehn, Robichaud & Colagiovanni, PLLC in 2013. Her path has alternated between partnerships and independent practice, giving her experience on both sides of firm management and client representation.
Throughout her career Fehn has practiced under the bar jurisdictions of Ohio and Michigan. Colleagues and clients have noted that her early clinical training often informs the way she evaluates evidence and prepares for hearings. That background can be an asset when cases touch on medical records, clinical procedures, or institutional policies.
Today she practices from the Law Offices of Fehn & Colagiovanni, PLLC. Her current work centers on legal matters where clinical experience and legal questions intersect, and she continues to draw on both her nursing and legal backgrounds in serving clients.
