About Amir Hassan

Amir Hassan Sadaghiani earned a B.A. in economics from Bucknell University in 2003 and a J.D. from the University of Notre Dame in 2006. He completed a traditional path from undergraduate study to law school in four years. Those formative years set the stage for work in courtrooms rather than classrooms.

He began his legal career in public service. In 2006 he joined the Orange County District Lawyer's Office as an assistant district lawyer. That role put him on the prosecutorial side of criminal cases. He handled arraignments, negotiated plea matters and appeared in trial settings. The experience gave him a firsthand view of how cases are built and how they are resolved under the pressure of a calendar and a judge.

After several years in the public sector, Sadaghiani moved into private practice. In 2014 he took a position as an associate at Ostrer & Associates, P.C. He worked on criminal defense matters and other litigation while in that role. More recently he has been associated with Ostrer & Sadaghiani, P.C., where he continues to practice law. His time in both government and private firms informs how he approaches investigation and case strategy.

He is admitted to practice in New York and in federal courts, including the Eastern District of New York and the Southern District of New York. He holds memberships in several professional organizations: the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association, both since 2007, and the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers since 2015. Those memberships place him among peers who practice criminal law at the state and federal levels.

Sadaghiani's background spans work as a prosecutor and as a defense lawyer. He has experience preparing cases for court, conducting legal research and managing client matters through various stages of litigation. That breadth of experience means he is familiar with the tactics used by both sides in criminal prosecutions and the mechanics of federal and state court procedures.

He practices at Ostrer & Sadaghiani, P.C., handling criminal matters in New York. He represents clients in state and federal court proceedings and continues to focus his practice on criminal defense and related litigation.
