About Ameena Razia

Ameena Razia Sheikh earned her Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School in 2016. She arrived at law school after an earlier course of study and graduated during a period of shifting legal practice, a time that shaped how she approaches cases. Her law school years included the standard mix of coursework and clinical experiences that prepare new lawyers for practice, and she left Detroit ready to take the bar and begin representing clients.

Sheikh's legal career has taken place across state lines. She is admitted to practice in both Michigan and California. That dual admission has allowed her to build experience handling matters that touch on two different legal cultures and court systems. Early in her practice she learned to read the nuances that distinguish state statutes and local rules. Colleagues say she adapts her approach depending on the jurisdiction and the stakes involved, moving from courtroom procedure to client counseling as the situation demands.

Over time Sheikh has handled a variety of matters that require careful legal analysis and practical problem-solving. Her work has required attention to procedural detail and to the business realities her clients face. She prepares pleadings, negotiates on behalf of clients, and works toward resolutions through settlement or trial when necessary. She also spends time advising clients on compliance and the tactical choices that shape litigation and transactional outcomes.

In 2026 Sheikh works through LADIES IN LAW®, a practice vehicle that bears the same name as the office where she maintains her practice. She balances client work with the administrative tasks of running a practice and mentoring less-experienced attorneys when the opportunity arises. Her day-to-day work can involve court appearances in Michigan and California, drafting and refining legal documents, and meeting with clients to plan strategy.

Those who have worked with Sheikh note a methodical approach to casebuilding and a preference for clear, direct explanations to clients. She aims to translate complex legal concepts into practical terms so clients understand the options before them. She continues to practice through LADIES IN LAW®, handling matters that arise under Michigan and California law.
