About Amber

Amber Forrester built her legal foundation at two East Coast institutions. She earned a Bachelor of Science from the College of William and Mary in 2004. Three years later she graduated from Rutgers University–Camden with a J.D., entering a courtroom world she had already been preparing to join.

Her first position after law school was a clerkship on the New Jersey Superior Court. She served as a law clerk to the Honorable F. Patrick McManimon, J.S.C., where she handled legal research, drafted opinions and observed the practical workings of trial and motion practice. The clerkship gave her a close look at judicial decision-making and case management.

In 2008 she moved into public defense work and became an Assistant Deputy Public Defender in the New Jersey Office of the Public Defender. That role put her in court regularly. She conducted hearings, managed caseloads, and represented clients in serious criminal matters. The daily experience of courtroom work and client advocacy shaped her approach to case preparation and trial strategy.

She is a Certified Criminal Trial Lawyer, a credential issued by the Supreme Court of New Jersey. The certification recognizes trial experience and certain standards of performance. It also signals her involvement in criminal trials over the course of her career. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey and has remained based in the state since her early professional years.

After years in public service she transitioned to private practice and established Forrester Law Office. She maintains multiple office locations under that firm name and handles a mix of litigation and casework drawn largely from state criminal matters. Her practice includes pretrial investigations, motions practice, plea discussions and trial advocacy.

Her work reflects a practical orientation. She draws on courtroom experience to set priorities early in a case. That means assessing strength and weaknesses of evidence, preparing clients for hearings, and making strategic choices about contesting charges or negotiating resolutions. Colleagues describe her as orderly and thorough in preparation; clients encounter the direct, plainspoken explanations they need to make decisions.

Amber Forrester continues to accept criminal defense matters in New Jersey. She divides her time between client representation, trial work and running Forrester Law Office, where she represents individuals charged with crimes and handles trials, appeals and plea negotiations.
