About Amanda M.
Amanda M. Oliver built a legal foundation in Midwestern classrooms. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Millikin University in 2003, after beginning her undergraduate studies in 1999. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School in 2007.
She entered practice the same year. In 2007 she joined Lake Toback as a lawyer, taking on day-to-day client work and courtroom responsibilities as part of a small firm team. Her career moved into firm leadership in the mid-2010s. She became an equity partner at Weiss Kunz & Green, LLC in 2015 and was named a partner at Weiss-Kunz & Oliver, LLC the following year.
Oliver’s professional life has been marked by steady involvement in local and state bar organizations. She holds memberships in the Illinois State Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association and the Lake County Bar Association. Since 2014 she has also served on the advisory board of the Chicago chapter of the National Basketball Association Retired Players Association, a role that places her at the intersection of legal issues and athlete welfare at a community level.
Her rise to partnership reflected an expanding role inside the firms she has served. As a partner she has taken on firm management duties, client intake and oversight of case strategy. She works from multiple offices in the Chicago area, maintaining ties to clients and colleagues in the city and in nearby suburbs.
Colleagues describe Oliver as methodical in her approach to client matters and practical in her courtroom and negotiation work. She combines hands-on litigation experience from her early years with the administrative responsibilities of partnership. Her bar memberships and advisory board work show an interest in both the profession’s organizational side and in community-facing legal issues.
She continues to practice out of offices in Chicago, Elmhurst and Park Ridge. Her current practice focuses on legal matters in Illinois.
