About Amanda Anne
Amanda Anne Bloomgren built a path to law that began in marketing and journalism. She earned a B.S. in Marketing and Public Relations from the University of Minnesota in 1998 and studied journalism at American University in 2001. She then turned to law, receiving her J.D. from the University of St. Thomas, Minnesota School of Law in 2003.
After law school Bloomgren entered private practice. She joined Melchert Hubert Sjodin, PLLP as an associate in 2005. Those years in a larger firm setting gave her experience in the rhythms of day-to-day litigation and client work. She remained active in legal circles and bar organization activities during that time.
In 2011 she began practicing under the name Bloomgren Hanson Legal. Since then she has maintained a solo or small-firm practice and handled matters in both state and federal forums. She is licensed in Minnesota and is admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
Bloomgren’s career has also included substantial involvement outside the office. She has coached the Waconia Mock Trial team since 2009, helping high school students learn courtroom procedure and advocacy. She has served as secretary/treasurer of the Chaska Rotary since 2007 and co-chaired the STRIVE Chaska Rotary Scholarship Program from 2008 to 2011. Her commitment to mentoring shows in a long-running role with the University of St. Thomas School of Law Mentor Program that began in 2007.
Her bar work dates to the mid-2000s. She has been a member of the Minnesota Bar Association and the 8th District Bar Association since 2006. Within the 8th District Bar she has served on the Ethics Investigation Committee, a role that placed her directly in committee-level reviews and deliberations. Those activities have kept her close to the professional standards that govern practice in the region.
Clients and colleagues describe Bloomgren as steady and practical in approach. She balances courtroom experience gained through mock-trial coaching and hands-on practice with an ongoing role in bar governance. She continues to run Bloomgren Hanson Legal and to accept matters in Minnesota and before the Eighth Circuit; her current practice focuses on representing clients in state and federal matters.
