About Alyssa P.

Alyssa P. Martin is a California-licensed attorney based at Fenwick & West LLP. She arrived in law after an undergraduate course of study that examined global politics and institutions. Her early academic path set a tone of analytical thinking that has informed her legal work.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Stanford University. She then attended Harvard Law School, receiving her J.D. in 2014. Those years included rigorous training in legal research and writing and exposure to a wide range of doctrinal subjects.

After law school, Martin moved into private practice. She joined Fenwick & West LLP and has worked at the firm in California. Her time at Fenwick has involved advising companies and representing clients in matters that require careful contract drafting, negotiation, and legal risk assessment. Colleagues describe her approach as methodical and centered on clear, practical solutions.

Her work draws on the combination of an international relations background and formal legal training. That mix can be useful when clients face cross-border questions or regulatory issues that touch on trade and international compliance. In day-to-day practice she manages document review, prepares transactional documents, and participates in client calls and negotiations. She has handled matters across different stages of client engagement, from initial due diligence to closing.

Martin also spends time mentoring junior lawyers in the firm. She contributes to internal training and helps newer associates develop drafting and negotiation skills. Her role includes coordinating with specialists inside the firm when matters require intellectual property, tax, or employment law input.

Outside of casework, Martin follows developments in California law and corporate practice. She keeps an active interest in how state and federal developments affect business counsel and transactional planning. She is known for clear memoranda and for advising clients on practical next steps rather than abstract theory.

She practices law in California at Fenwick & West LLP. Her current practice centers on corporate and commercial matters for the firm’s clients in the region.
