About Allison

Allison Cooper earned her undergraduate degree from Boston College in 2007, graduating with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in French. She continued her studies at the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, where she received her J.D. in 2011. Those years of study gave her a background in legal reasoning and an appreciation for the policy questions that often sit behind client matters.

After law school she entered private practice in California. Her resume includes a position at Fenwick & West LLP, where she is part of the firm’s roster of attorneys serving corporate clients and other organizations. Colleagues describe her as thorough in her preparation and attentive to the procedural demands of complex matters. She handles legal work in the California jurisdiction and is involved in the kinds of tasks that large, full-service firms assign to associates and staff attorneys.

Cooper’s undergraduate work in political science and her study of French inform a pragmatic approach to problem solving. Those academic threads show in how she frames issues and communicates with clients and opposing counsel. She is equally comfortable drafting documents and arguing procedural points. Her training at UC Law San Francisco also exposed her to the courtroom and regulatory environments common to state practice.

At Fenwick & West LLP she contributes to engagements that require detailed legal research and careful drafting. She participates in client calls, prepares memoranda, and supports transactional and litigation teams as needed. Peers note that she balances attention to detail with respect for firm timelines. Clients benefit from an attorney who can move between written advocacy and oral explanation without losing sight of key facts.

Outside the office Cooper’s bilingual studies remain a personal interest. The language skills she developed at Boston College occasionally assist in cross-cultural communications in client matters. Her career path reflects a steady progression from classroom study to professional practice in California.

She currently practices law at Fenwick & West LLP in California, handling matters for the firm’s clients in state jurisdictions and supporting both transactional and litigation efforts.
