About Allison
Allison Byman grew up in Texas and completed her formal education in the state. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University in 2000 and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 2003. Those formative years placed her in large Texas legal markets and set the course for a practice anchored in state courts and federal bankruptcy matters.
She launched her legal career in 2003 as an associate at Thompson & Knight LLP. The early years at that firm exposed her to complex commercial and restructuring matters common to corporate practice. Colleagues from that period remember a lawyer who moved through assignments steadily and who accepted increasing responsibility on commercial litigation and creditor-side matters.
In 2012 she held two notable roles. She served as an of counsel attorney at Hughes Watters Askanase LLP, bringing experience from big-firm practice into a different firm environment. That same year she also served as a Chapter 7 trustee, a role that put her in the middle of insolvency administration, creditor relations and asset distribution. The trusteeship gave her direct experience overseeing bankruptcy estates and working with bankruptcy courts and creditors’ committees.
By 2019 she established Byman & Associates PLLC and became the firm’s owner. The move to open her own office followed years of handling creditor representation, debtor counseling and estate administration. She maintains memberships in the Houston Bar Association and in NABT, participating in association activities and professional networks in Houston and beyond. Her practice combines courtroom work with transactional and administrative duties typical of bankruptcy and insolvency practice.
Today she operates Byman & Associates PLLC. Her work draws on years spent in both firm settings and trustee administration. She remains active in local bar activities while representing clients in matters that arise under the Bankruptcy Code and related state-law issues. She runs Byman & Associates PLLC, where her practice centers on bankruptcy matters and related litigation.
