About Allison
Allison Bullard studied liberal arts at Furman University and earned her law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. She combined a broad undergraduate curriculum with the rigorous training of law school. The result is a lawyer comfortable handling both the legal technicalities and the human questions that come with family law work.
After law school Bullard began practicing in South Carolina. She is admitted to the bar in that jurisdiction and built her practice around domestic relations matters. Early in her career she took on a mix of courtroom work and negotiated settlements. She quickly learned how different a custody hearing feels from a conciliatory settlement table; each requires a different tone and timing.
Her current home is Harling and West, LLC. At the firm she represents clients in divorce, custody, child support, and related proceedings. Her case load includes contested hearings as well as agreements reached through mediation. She regularly prepares pleadings, handles evidentiary matters and appears in family court. She also assists clients in drafting settlement agreements and post-judgment modifications.
Bullard maintains active involvement in bar groups that mirror her practice. She is a member of the South Carolina Bar and participates in the Richland County Bar, where she serves on the Families Forever Committee. That committee concentrates on programs and outreach connected to children and family stability in the county. She is also a member of the American Bar Association and takes part in its Family Law Committee, which offers a forum for practitioners to discuss changes in statutes and procedure.
Her work demands both factual precision and an ability to communicate difficult options to people under stress. She prepares clients for hearings and for mediation. She addresses discovery and custody evaluations, and she coordinates with financial experts when property division issues arise. Colleagues say she is thorough in preparation and methodical in courtroom practice.
Outside casework she contributes time to bar committee meetings and continuing legal education panels when schedules allow. Those activities keep her current on developments in family law and on changes to state procedure.
She continues to practice at Harling and West, LLC in South Carolina. Her work concentrates on family law matters, including divorce, custody, child support and related post-judgment issues.
