About Alina

Alina Cruz earned a Bachelor of Science in Advertising from the University of Florida’s School of Journalism and Communications in 1976. Nearly three decades later she returned to academia and received her J.D. from Florida International University College of Law in 2005. The two degrees bookend an unusual professional arc that blends communications training with later legal study.

After law school she moved into private practice. Records show she began work at CruzLaw PA in 2007, where she is listed as a lawyer. She is admitted to practice in the state of Florida and is also authorized to appear before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Those credentials underpin the cases she handles and the filings she makes on behalf of clients in federal and state courts.

Cruz has been active in professional organizations that align with elements of her practice. She has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association since 2008. Beginning in 2013 she also joined Farmers Legal Action Group in a lawyer role, a position she continues to hold. Those affiliations point to an interest in immigration matters and issues affecting agricultural communities.

Colleagues describe her approach as pragmatic. She blends legal research and courtroom work with the communication skills developed during her undergraduate studies. She tends to prioritize clear explanations for clients and straightforward strategies in filings. Those habits show in routine motions and in written advocacy presented to judges.

Her practice at CruzLaw PA has centered on cases that require both state and federal filings. She maintains a steady caseload and represents clients in matters that reach both trial and administrative stages. She is known for handling procedural work and client counseling alongside litigation tasks.

Outside court dockets she remains involved in the professional groups that reflect longstanding interests. Membership in national and niche legal associations has been a constant since the late 2000s and continues to inform the work she does for clients.

She currently practices from CruzLaw PA. Her current practice concentrates on immigration and related civil matters.
