About Aliette H.

Aliette H. Carolan earned her undergraduate degree in communications and criminology from the University of Miami in 1999. She continued her legal education at Nova Southeastern University, receiving her J.D. in 2003. Those years of study combined social science and law in ways that would shape her subsequent practice.

She is licensed to practice in Florida and also admitted to appear before the Federal Circuit. Carolan pursued certification as a family law mediator through the Florida Supreme Court, a credential she uses regularly in her work. Early in her career she became involved in family court services and programs that serve children and families, including a five-year stint on the board of a local court services initiative tied to the 11th Judicial Circuit.

Her professional affiliations reflect both legal and civic commitments. She has been a member of the American Bar Association since 2010 and joined the Coral Gables Bar Association in 2015. Beyond the bar, she has held roles in cultural organizations: she has served on the Board of Directors for Beaux Art at the University of Miami Lowe Art Museum since 2015 and has been active with the Perez Art Museum Miami Young Collectors Council since 2011. Those positions sit alongside her legal associations and mark a continuing interest in community engagement.

Carolan’s work centers on family law. She handles contested and uncontested matters that commonly arise in family court. Cases she manages include divorce proceedings, child custody and parenting plans, child support issues, and related litigation. She regularly acts as a mediator in family disputes and uses her Florida Supreme Court certification to conduct mediations intended to resolve matters without prolonged court battles.

Colleagues and clients encounter a practitioner who balances courtroom experience with alternative dispute resolution. She has used board service and bar involvement to stay connected to court programs and to policy discussions affecting families. Her participation in arts organizations has also informed a broader civic perspective that she brings back to her legal work.

Her practice combines litigation and mediation in family law. Today she concentrates her work on family law matters and on serving as a certified family law mediator.
