About Alicia P.
Alicia P. Chalumeau built her legal foundation in the Northeast. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business and Political Science from Pace University in 2003 and completed her J.D. at Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in 2009. Her academic years included practical legal work that prefaced a career spanning private practice, court service, and public-appointed roles.
Fresh out of law school, Chalumeau took a post at Greenberg & Krieger, LLP in 2009. She had earlier spent time as a judicial intern at the Supreme Court of the State of New York and was a summer associate at Koskoff, Koskoff and Bieder in 2008. Those early roles exposed her to courtroom procedure, litigation practice, and the mechanics of civil advocacy. In 2012 she launched Chalumeau Law Group, LLC and has continued to run the firm since then.
Her license portfolio covers multiple jurisdictions. She is admitted in Connecticut and New York and holds admissions to federal courts including the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, and the 2nd Circuit. She is also admitted in the District of Columbia. That range of admissions allows her to handle matters across state and federal lines.
Chalumeau’s training extends beyond court admissions. She is a certified Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) and a certified Lawyer for the Minor Child (AMC) through the Connecticut State Division of Public Defender Services. These certifications reflect work on matters involving children and family law issues where independent representation or investigative duties are required.
She remains involved in the bar and in professional organizations. Her memberships include the Fairfield County Bar Association, the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, the Connecticut Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, the DC Bar Association, and the New York State Bar Association. She also founded the CT Law Info Group, an organization that signals an interest in legal community building and information sharing.
Chalumeau balances running her own firm with appearances in both state and federal court. The Chalumeau Law Group has handled a range of civil litigation matters since its founding. Her background in business and political science, combined with litigation experience and court certifications, informs the firm’s approach to case work.
She continues to practice from the Chalumeau Law Group, LLC, handling civil litigation and family-related court matters as part of her current practice focus.
