About Alexandra Rodriguez

Alexandra Rodriguez Linehan earned her law degree from South Texas College of Law in 2016. She completed a curriculum that prepared her for practice in a state with a high volume of immigration matters. Early in her career she set a clear direction toward public interest work and immigrant legal services.

After law school, Linehan joined RAICES, the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services, as a staff lawyer. In that role she represented clients in a range of immigration proceedings. She has appeared in immigration court, assisted with filings for humanitarian relief, and worked on family-based petitions. Her daily work combines client interviews, case strategy, and regular contact with courts and government agencies.

Her experience at RAICES places her at the intersection of law and social services. She frequently collaborates with social workers and nonprofit partners to address clients’ legal and nonlegal needs. That collaboration helps shape case plans that account for vulnerable clients’ circumstances, including language access and trauma-informed approaches.

Linehan’s practice involves both individual representation and community-centered legal work. She has handled intake clinics and pro bono projects, helping people understand their options and begin formal proceedings when appropriate. She also helps prepare evidence and legal briefs, and she supports clients through interviews and hearings. Her caseload has included asylum applications, removal defense, family reunification petitions, and other forms of relief available under U.S. immigration law.

Colleagues describe her approach as steady and pragmatic. She emphasizes clear communication with clients and seeks practical pathways to resolution. In court, she presents factual narratives and legal arguments that aim to clarify complex circumstances for adjudicators. Outside hearings she spends significant time on case development and documentation, recognizing those tasks often determine outcomes.

Linehan remains based in Texas and continues to work at RAICES. Her practice is shaped by the legal needs of refugees and immigrants across the state. She handles matters in immigration court and before federal agencies and participates in community outreach that helps people access legal services. She currently practices immigration law at RAICES, representing refugees and immigrants across Texas.
