About Alexandra
Alexandra Hughes earned her J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law in 2016 after completing a B.A. in Political Science at Vassar College in 2013. Her undergraduate study of political systems and public institutions preceded three years of legal training in Atlanta. Those years on campus provided the technical foundation that informs her approach to practice.
Her academic background introduced her to legal research, statutory analysis and oral advocacy. The combination of political science and law shaped how she evaluates problems. She is comfortable moving from theory to the practical questions clients bring. That intellectual trajectory—liberal arts to law school—also gave her an interest in how legal rules intersect with public policy.
After law school she entered the legal profession and established herself in practice. She maintains current membership in professional associations. Those affiliations keep her connected to colleagues and to ongoing developments in the profession. She has used that network to stay current on changes in statutory and case law.
Her work over the past years has been rooted in client service and case preparation. She prepares pleadings, conducts legal research and participates in client counseling. She approaches each matter by breaking it into manageable parts. That method helps set priorities and identify next steps for clients.
At present she practices at Blasingame, Burch, Garrard & Ashley, P.C. There she works alongside other attorneys handling a range of matters for corporate and individual clients. Her role at the firm involves managing files, drafting legal documents and consulting with clients about options and possible outcomes. Colleagues describe her as methodical and attentive to detail.
Her path from Vassar to Georgia State and into private practice shows a steady line of professional development. She remains active in professional circles and continues to build practical courtroom and advisory skills. She currently practices law at Blasingame, Burch, Garrard & Ashley, P.C.
