About Alex

Alex Jennings built a legal foundation in Colorado classrooms before moving into courtrooms across the state. She began undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado Boulder in 2007 and earned a B.A. in 2011. She then entered the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2012 and received her J.D. in 2015.

Her career in public service started soon after law school. In 2016 she joined the 14th Judicial District as a deputy district lawyer. The position placed her in regular court settings. She handled case preparation, appeared at hearings and managed files from intake through resolution. The work required steady attention to procedure and an ability to explain sometimes complex rules to judges, juries and colleagues.

In 2020 Jennings moved to the 1st Judicial District, continuing as a deputy district lawyer. The 1st Judicial District presented different caseload dynamics and a broader docket. She took on more courtroom responsibilities and gained further experience in litigation and case management. Colleagues from that period recall her methodical approach to briefs and a willingness to take on difficult motions.

After several years in the district system, she shifted to private practice. In 2024 Jennings became an associate lawyer at Modern Family Law. The transition brought a new rhythm. There was more client counseling and long-term file development. The role also required translating courtroom experience into practical strategies for individual clients. She joined a firm environment that emphasizes collaborative case work and day-to-day client contact.

Jennings maintains ties to the Colorado legal community. She is a member of the Colorado Women’s Bar Association and the Colorado Bar Association. Those memberships keep her informed about changes in rules and policy, and they provide opportunities for professional development and peer exchange.

Her record shows steady movement from public-sector litigation to private practice. She has handled courtroom procedures, motion practice and client communications in multiple judicial districts. She currently practices at Modern Family Law and handles family law matters.
