About Alex

Alex Bouthilet built his path to the law across two Midwestern campuses and two state bars. He arrived at the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2000 and completed a Bachelor of Arts in French in 2005. Three years later he began legal studies at Marquette University Law School and earned his J.D. in 2010.

After law school, Bouthilet established a practice that spans state lines. He is admitted to the bars of Wisconsin and Texas. Over time he has balanced courtroom assignments, client counseling, and case preparation in both jurisdictions. Those dual admissions shape how he approaches cases and client relationships.

His professional life has included membership in several bar and legal organizations. He keeps ties to professional groups in order to stay current on developments that affect litigation and practice management. Colleagues describe him as methodical in his preparation and pragmatic when advising clients.

Bouthilet joined The Wright Firm, LLP, where he is part of a team handling matters that require attention to procedural detail and strategic planning. The firm has offices in multiple locations and Bouthilet has handled filings and appearances across venue lines. He has worked on matters that involve discovery, motion practice and trial preparation, and he often coordinates with co-counsel in different states to align strategy and scheduling.

His style in the courtroom is deliberate. He focuses on clear explanations for judges and juries. Outside court, he concentrates on getting facts organized and on providing clients with straightforward options. He places value on calendar control and thorough document review. Those practices reduce surprises and help frame negotiations.

Bouthilet also invests time in mentoring younger attorneys at the firm. He reviews briefs and conducts practice sessions for courtroom presentations. He contributes to internal trainings that cover procedural updates and effective courtroom techniques. That internal work has become a regular part of his weekly schedule.

He balances case work with administrative tasks, often managing docket obligations across Wisconsin and Texas. Clients who work across state lines find that arrangement convenient; it allows continuity of representation and reduces the need to transfer matters between firms.

As of 2026, Alex Bouthilet practices at The Wright Firm, LLP, where he focuses his work on representing clients in matters that span Wisconsin and Texas.
