About Aleece
Aleece McKnight began her legal career in the courts. In 2013 she served as a judicial clerk to Chancellor Walter Evans. That early courtroom exposure shaped the practical side of her legal approach and gave her a close view of how judges evaluate disputes.
After her clerkship she spent time in private practice at several Nashville firms. In 2014 she worked at Cane Law Office and also maintained a period as a sole practitioner that same year. She joined Clark & Washington LLC in 2015 and moved to Hughes and Coleman ®, PLLC in 2017. Those roles offered a mix of firm-based casework and client counseling across a range of matters.
In 2019 she established the Law Office of Aleece McKnight LLC and has served as founder and principal lawyer since then. Running a small firm required building both the legal side of the practice and the administrative operations that support it. She has guided that transition from colleague to firm leader while continuing to handle individual client matters.
Her professional affiliations reflect both local bar involvement and community-facing work. She is a member of the State Bar of Tennessee and has been admitted to the United States District Court of Middle Tennessee since 2015. Since 2015 she has served as secretary of the Napier-Looby Bar Foundation, a role that includes organizational governance and participation in foundation activities. Beginning in 2020 she joined SCORE Nashville as a subject matter expert, providing business guidance to entrepreneurs and small business owners.
Colleagues describe her as steady and pragmatic in how she handles cases and client questions. That reputation grew from a mix of firm work, solo practice, and participation in nonprofit and mentoring programs. Her background as a clerk, then as an attorney in several firms, and now as a firm founder, gives her a broad perspective on both the procedural and practical sides of routine litigation and transactional matters.
She maintains an active practice through the Law Office of Aleece McKnight LLC and holds current memberships and admissions that allow her to represent clients in state and federal matters. She currently focuses her practice on serving clients through her Nashville office and before the United States District Court of Middle Tennessee.
