About Albert Wm. (Bill) Barber

Albert Wm. (Bill) Barber III trained in the classroom and learned in the courtroom. He took the conventional path through college and law school, emerging ready to practice in Kentucky courts and in federal forums. The years that shaped him were spent studying political science and the law.

He earned a B.A. in political science from Transylvania University in 1990 and a J.D. from the University of Louisville in 1993. Those credentials placed him among a cohort of Kentucky lawyers who entered practice in the early 1990s. The academic record is straightforward. His education provided the foundation for the next steps of a legal career.

After law school he established his practice in Kentucky. He is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Admission in those courts allows him to handle matters at the trial and appellate levels when cases take that route. He has maintained that bar membership and those federal admissions while practicing from his office.

Barber operates out of Bill Barber Law. He manages the daily demands of running a small law office, from client meetings to motion practice. The firm handles filings and courtroom appearances in the jurisdictions where Barber is admitted. He balances courtroom preparation with written advocacy, drafting pleadings and briefs that are meant to address the legal and factual issues a case presents.

Colleagues describe his work as steady and deliberate. He favors thorough preparation before hearings and a careful approach to deadlines and procedural requirements. He presents arguments in plain terms and relies on the rule of law rather than rhetorical flourish. That practical orientation shapes how he approaches client matters and case strategy.

In practice he navigates both state and federal procedures and stays current on local rules and appellate procedure. He continues to accept matters through Bill Barber Law and appears in the courts where he is admitted. His current practice focuses on representing clients in proceedings and filings in Kentucky and in the federal courts where he is authorized to appear.
