About Alana L.
Alana L. Wiaduck studied political science and completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Michigan in 2004 before returning to Michigan for law school. She earned her J.D. from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2011. Those years framed a path that moved from public service internships into courtroom work and client-facing roles.
Her early work mixed practical health care tasks and government exposure. In 2003 she worked as a patient advocacy coordinator and medical billing clerk, a role that required attention to detail and direct contact with patients and providers. In 2004 she spent time in two legislative and judicial environments: an internship in the House of Commons in Ottawa and a campaign assistant and Supreme Court intern position for Michigan Supreme Court Justice Marilyn Kelly. Those placements offered a close-up view of public institutions and the mechanics of law on both sides of the border.
In 2010 Wiaduck served as a law clerk to the Honorable Timothy Hicks and the Honorable Kathleen Feeney. In that capacity she supported judicial chambers by conducting legal research, preparing memoranda, and assisting with the drafting of opinions and orders. The clerkship sharpened her analytical skills and familiarized her with courtroom procedure and case management at the trial level.
She joined McCroskey Law in 2011 as a practicing lawyer. Over the years in private practice she has taken on matters that require careful case preparation, client counseling, and attention to procedural detail. Her background in both courtroom support and direct client service informs how she approaches file management and communications with clients and opposing counsel.
Wiaduck holds a Notary Public commission for the State of Michigan. She is also an active member of several professional organizations that connect Michigan lawyers across counties and practice areas. Current memberships include the State Bar of Michigan, the Ottawa County Bar Association, the Muskegon County Bar Association, the Woman Lawyers Association of Michigan, the Michigan Association for Justice — Women’s Caucus, and Grand Haven Young Professionals. Those memberships reflect an engagement with both local bar activities and statewide professional networks.
Her career path has woven public internships, judicial clerkship work, and private practice into a steady professional trajectory. She is based at McCroskey Law and practices law in Michigan, handling legal matters for clients throughout the state.
