About Agnes
Agnes Jury grew up studying people as much as the law. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in cultural anthropology with a minor in education from Concordia University in 2000. She went on to complete her Juris Doctor at The John Marshall Law School, receiving the degree in 2007.
She began practicing law the year she finished law school and is licensed to practice in both Illinois and Michigan. Early in her career she entered private practice and navigated the practical work of representing individual clients. That groundwork shaped how she approaches client matters: methodical, detail-oriented and rooted in courtroom and administrative procedure.
Her practice centers on immigration matters. She has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association since 2011 and that professional network has informed much of her immigration work. In routine filings and high-stakes hearings alike she handles family-based petitions, work and student visas, naturalization matters and relief from removal. She represents clients before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and in immigration court, and she assists people preparing for interviews and hearings.
Jury has also carved out a role in professional and community leadership. She served as president of the Grand Traverse - Leelanau - Antrim Bar Association and has maintained membership there since 2015. In 2019 she became a representative to the State Bar of Michigan Representative Assembly, a position she continues to hold. Those roles place her in conversation with judges, local attorneys and bar leaders on matters that affect court administration and access to legal services.
Her office is Pillar Immigration Services, PLLC, where she spends most of her time now. Colleagues and clients describe her approach as practical; she prioritizes clarity in paperwork and direct preparation for hearings. She works with families, employers and individuals who need help navigating the immigration system. Cases range from straightforward benefit applications to contested removal proceedings.
Outside client work she stays engaged with professional associations that track changes in immigration law and policy. She also participates in local bar activities that link rural and regional courts to larger state systems. She continues to represent immigrants, families and businesses through Pillar Immigration Services, PLLC, concentrating on immigration petitions, naturalization and removal defense.
