About Adrienne
Adrienne Woods built her legal foundations at Fordham University School of Law. She left law school for a federal clerkship early in her career and spent time in the Southern District of New York's bankruptcy court. That year on the bench, 2004, gave her an inside view of how complex insolvency matters are processed by judges and staff.
Her early exposure to bankruptcy practice shaped her next steps. She later sought roles that kept her close to commercial restructuring and creditor-debtor disputes. She is admitted to practice in New York and she has kept active ties to professional groups that concentrate on insolvency and commercial law.
Woods serves as a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the New York State Bar Association and the New York City Bar Association, holding those memberships since 2021. Those affiliations put her in regular contact with peers, academic work and the industry conversations that surround bankruptcy practice. The memberships reflect steady engagement rather than a single-track career path.
Her hands-on courtroom experience dates back to the clerkship, but she has also developed work on both sides of contested matters. She understands the procedural mechanics of bankruptcy filings, claims administration, and creditor remedies. Colleagues note that she approaches casework methodically and relies on a clear reading of the Bankruptcy Code and local rules.
Woods established her own practice to offer a direct line to clients who need counsel in insolvency and related commercial disputes. Her office structure allows her to coordinate filings, respond to creditor inquiries and manage negotiations over restructuring terms. She regularly prepares pleadings, attends hearings and advises clients on strategic choices that arise during a bankruptcy case.
Her practice is not restricted to courtroom work. She advises businesses and individuals on rights and options outside of litigation. That includes counseling on debt relief options and the consequences of various restructuring proposals. She also stays engaged with continuing legal education and the professional community through her bar and association memberships.
Woods operates from THE LAW OFFICES OF ADRIENNE WOODS, P.C. Her practice centers on bankruptcy, insolvency and related commercial litigation matters.
