About Adrienne

Adrienne Sakyi earned her J.D. from the College of William and Mary in 2007 after completing a B.A. in journalism and pre-law at Flagler College in 2003. She moved into hands-on legal work early. Her academic background combined reporting skills and legal study, which shaped her approach to research and courtroom procedure.

Her first roles after law school emphasized court operations and public service. In 2009 she worked as a research assistant for the National Center for State Courts, helping analyze legal processes and court administration. The following year she served as a law clerk in the Newport News Circuit Court, where she gained direct exposure to trial dockets and judicial decisionmaking. Also in 2010 she accepted a post-graduate fellowship at the Henrico County Lawyers Office, performing legal work for a local government practice.

She moved into private practice in 2012 when she joined Schempf & Ware, PLLC as an associate lawyer. That position placed her in a firm environment after several years of public-sector and court-side experience. Colleagues recall her attention to factual detail and an ability to translate research into practical case work. She has maintained ties to the local bar scene in the Hampton Roads area since that time.

Public and professional service have been a steady part of her career. Sakyi has been a member of the Newport News Bar Association since 2010. In 2012 she took on a leadership role in the York County Bar Association and has served as secretary there since. Those roles include coordinating meetings and handling administrative duties for bar activities.

Her practice combines a background in court procedure, government law work and firm-based representation. The record shows experiences that range from court research to municipal legal work and then to client representation within a private firm. She brings an investigative approach to file preparation and a familiarity with the local judicial landscape.

As of 2026 she practices law in Virginia and remains active in regional bar associations. She currently practices law in Virginia, applying her courtroom and local-government experience to her matters.
